WordPress SEO built to bring you customers, not just rankings
Nearly 20 years optimising WordPress websites for businesses across Wiltshire, the South West and beyond — no jargon, no big–agency handoffs, just straight answers from the person actually doing the work.
One joined–up SEO campaign, not a pile of separate tricks
We’re a WordPress SEO specialist helping clients achieve better placements in the search results — the kind that bring the right visitors to your site, not just more of them. That could mean more enquiries, more phone calls, more newsletter sign–ups, or more completed orders through your online shop, depending on what actually matters to your business.
We’ve worked across a genuinely wide range of industries over the years, from solicitors to construction firms, tech and software companies to local independent shops. Some clients need a tightly local strategy; others are national businesses — manufacturers, online retailers — competing for customers across the whole UK or beyond. Our technical knowledge of WordPress, combined with a solid understanding of what Google actually looks for, is what the whole service is built around: whatever a particular website needs to get long–lasting results is what gets applied, not a one–size–fits–all package.
Getting a WordPress website to rank isn’t about any single trick or plugin — it’s keyword research, on–page work, off–page authority and clear reporting, all pulling in the same direction. Here’s how we put that together for you.
Keyword Research
Before touching a single page, we find out exactly what your customers are typing into Google — and which of those terms you can realistically win on your budget.
On–Page SEO
Every page gets the technical, content and design attention search engines — and your visitors — expect, from page speed to page copy to navigation that actually makes sense.
Off–Page SEO
Careful, transparent link–building and off–site signals — the sustainable kind that still works after the next Google update, not the kind that gets you penalised six months later.
Reporting
A plain–English monthly report showing exactly what’s been done and what’s changed — no cloak–and–dagger, no vanity metrics.

Keyword Research
You wouldn’t set off on a journey without knowing your destination — and it’s just as risky to start SEO work on a website without a clear idea of what you’re actually aiming for. Before touching a single page, we dig into exactly which words and phrases your potential customers are typing into Google, so the whole campaign is built around terms that genuinely convert, not ones that just sound right.
We also look hard at the competition for those terms, because there’s little point chasing keywords where the results are dominated by long–established, high–authority sites with budgets far beyond most small businesses. The trick is finding terms that are specific to your business and your USPs, and genuinely achievable — often more specific, longer–tail phrases rather than the broad, expensive ones. Thorough keyword research usually turns up hundreds of realistic opportunities like this, and it’s not a one–off exercise: the words and phrases we target get reviewed and refined throughout the campaign, with some dropped and others added, so we keep attracting the right kind of visitor, not just more visitors.
On–Page SEO
Behind every page is the code the search engines actually read, and on–page SEO covers everything about tuning that — from the technical structure through to the words on the page and how it looks and feels to a visitor. The single biggest factor is your page copy: it needs to be informative, unique, and written for the people you actually want to attract. Page titles, URLs, and alt tags are all opportunities to tell search engines exactly what a page is about, and they matter just as much to the people scanning the results deciding whether to click on your listing.
Navigation and site structure matter too — if visitors can’t easily find what they’re looking for, they leave, and Google increasingly reads that kind of visitor behaviour as a signal about page quality. Page speed plays into this as well: keeping images and code lean affects how fast pages load, which has become a meaningful part of Google’s ranking algorithm in its own right. We look at all of these together — technical, content and design — because getting a WordPress site to actually perform takes all three working in the same direction, not just one fixed in isolation.
Off–Page SEO
A lot of what decides your position in Google happens away from your own pages entirely. Some of it — like domain age — isn’t something anyone can influence directly; Google simply trusts long–established sites more than brand–new ones. What can be influenced is where else you’re mentioned across the web, and most importantly, which sites link back to yours and how they do it.
The quality, relevance and diversity of your backlinks is what makes or breaks an off–page campaign, and it has to be built carefully — techniques that used to work, like mass directory submissions and forum signature links, have largely been superseded, and in some cases actively penalised, by Google’s more recent updates. The safer, more durable approach is earning links because other site owners genuinely want to point to something useful you’ve published. Getting this right can not be overstated: plenty of businesses have been caught out by inexperienced SEOs or bought link packages that gave a short–term bump before a Google update wiped it out. We build links carefully, based on your industry and goals, aiming for results that still hold up after the next algorithm change — not just the next few months.
Reporting
SEO shouldn’t feel like a black box. Every client gets a monthly report so you can see exactly what’s been done and what’s changed, rather than just taking it on faith that something is happening behind the scenes. Depending on what’s useful for your business, that can include your search engine positions, traffic reports showing where visitors are coming from and how they’re behaving once they land, and — for clients who want the detail — a full breakdown of the specific work carried out and why.
Some of the smallest projects we work on get a single, clear monthly report on ranking improvements and traffic; larger or more complex campaigns get considerably more detail. Either way, the point is the same: you should always be able to see, in plain English, what’s actually been achieved for what you’re paying.

A few straight answers
How long until I see results?
Genuinely, it varies — SEO is a compounding process, not a light switch. Most clients start seeing measurable movement within a few months, with the real gains building over 6–12 months. Anyone promising overnight results isn’t being straight with you.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. See the pricing page for the specifics, but there’s no lengthy lock–in beyond an initial term.
Do you only work with WordPress sites?
WordPress is our specialism and where we can move fastest and most effectively, since we know the platform inside out. If you’re on something else, get in touch and we’ll tell you plainly whether we’re the right fit.
What does it actually cost?
Full packages and one–off pricing are on the pricing page — real figures, not “get in touch for a quote.”
Right now, someone is searching for exactly what your business offers.
One website is about to show up first for them — we’ve spent nearly 20 years making sure it’s our clients’. Call, or send a message, and we’ll take a proper look at your site before recommending anything — no scripted sales pitch.
