What’s broken, what’s holding you back in search, and what to fix first
A full technical review of your site — not a wall of automated warnings, but a report written by someone who checked each finding against the real page before it went in.
Not another wall of automated warnings
Most SEO audits are a tool export, a traffic-light system, and fifty rows of “issues” — half of which turn out to be a broken link on a Cloudflare script tag that was never actually broken. This isn’t that.
Every audit combines a full crawl of your site with your own Google Search Console, page speed and link data — not just a canned tool report. We check technical health, on‑page content, structured data, and how you show up in AI search (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google’s AI Overviews), not just classic search results. Where the audit finds gaps in AI search, our AI SEO services pick up from there.
Where a tool flags something, we check it against the real page before it goes in the report. Automated crawlers get this wrong more often than people expect — miscounting scripts and images as “pages,” or flagging normal Cloudflare behaviour as broken links. We filter that out before you see it.
What we check
Crawlability & indexing
Whether search engines and AI crawlers can actually find, read and index your pages. Robots.txt, sitemaps, crawl errors, blocked content, and whether you’ve made a deliberate decision about which AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google‑Extended and the rest) are allowed in — most sites haven’t decided this at all, which is itself a finding.
Technical health
Duplicate content, broken redirects, orphaned pages that nothing links to, and Core Web Vitals using your real visitor data, not a lab test taken in isolation. We also check whether your JavaScript is hiding content from anything that isn’t a full browser — increasingly relevant now that AI tools read pages differently to Google.
Structured data
The markup that helps search engines and AI tools understand your products, articles and business. We check it actually validates, and — just as important — that it matches what’s really on the page. Structured data that claims a product’s “in stock” when it isn’t is worse than having none.
Content & trust signals
Whether your pages answer the questions people (and AI tools) are actually asking, and whether your site shows what search engines look for: a real address, named staff with actual profiles, reviews on and off your own site, an About page that says something. Small things individually, but they add up to whether a search engine — or a person — trusts what they’re reading.
Internal linking & site structure
How well your best pages are connected to the ones you want to rank. A brilliant page three clicks deep with one internal link pointing at it isn’t going to do much for you, however good the content is.
AI search readiness
Can AI tools find, extract and cite your content properly. This covers whether your key facts sit in real text rather than locked inside an image or JavaScript, whether your pages answer questions directly instead of burying the point in paragraph four, and whether you’re set up to be cited at all. This is moving fast and the research behind it is thinner than most agencies let on — we say so rather than pretending it’s settled science.
Local SEO (where relevant)
Google Business Profile, NAP consistency, and local schema, for businesses that depend on being found nearby.
What you get
A written report, not a spreadsheet of jargon:
- A plain‑English summary, written for whoever has to read it — technical or not.
- A findings table ranked worst‑first, with a specific fix against each issue, so you know what to do before what merely looks bad.
- A full appendix of everything checked, so nothing’s a black box and you can see exactly what “passed.”
- A sensible order to tackle it in — quick wins first, big jobs batched, ongoing monitoring last.
- Where traffic or ranking data is available, a section on what’s actually changed and where, in plain figures.
Why it’s worth trusting
We don’t guess. Every finding is backed by something we can point to — a live check, a report, an export. If something can’t be confirmed without more data or tool access, we say so and tell you exactly what would close it, rather than rounding it up to a fact.
If we’ve only checked a handful of your products and found a problem, the report says “confirmed on sample, verify catalogue‑wide” — not “your whole site has this issue.” And if your traffic’s dropped, we won’t tell you it was caused by something we can’t actually prove. Spam links appearing around the same time as a ranking drop is worth flagging — it isn’t proof of anything on its own. We’ll tell you what changed and where, and what it’d take to find out why.

Straight answers
Will this guarantee higher rankings?
No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing. Search rankings depend on things outside anyone’s control — algorithm changes, competitors, third‑party platforms. What we guarantee is an honest, evidenced picture of what’s wrong and what to fix first. That’s a different thing, and a more useful one.
Do I need to be technical to understand the report?
No. The summary at the front is written in plain English for whoever has to read it, not the person who built the site. The technical detail is there if you want it, in the findings table and appendix, but you don’t need it to know what to do next.
What if I don’t have Google Search Console or Ahrefs/Moz access?
Tell us what you do have. We can still run the full technical crawl and on‑page review without it — some sections (like the performance summary or backlink analysis) just get marked as needing that data, rather than guessed at.
Do you make the fixes, or just report them?
The audit is diagnosis, not treatment — it tells you exactly what to fix and how, in a sensible order. We’re happy to quote separately for implementation if you’d rather hand that over.
How is this different from a free tool report (Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.)?
Those tools are what we use to gather the data — we’re not reinventing them. The difference is what happens after: checking each flagged issue against the real page before it goes in the report, working out which ones actually matter, and writing it up so a non‑technical reader can act on it. A raw tool export usually contains a good number of false positives — miscounted pages, Cloudflare noise flagged as broken links, one template issue reported fifty times over. We strip that out.
Do you cover AI search (ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews) as well as Google?
Yes — it’s a standard part of every audit. We’re upfront that this is a newer field with a thinner evidence base than traditional SEO, so we treat it as current best practice rather than settled fact.
Will you compare us to our competitors?
Not as standard — that’s a different piece of work (a keyword and competitor opportunity analysis), and we’ll flag it as a separate option rather than quietly folding it in. Ask if you want that added.
Who sees the report?
Just you, and anyone you choose to share it with. It’s prepared for you specifically, based on your site’s own data.
What if I’m not the technical person — will my developer be able to act on it?
Yes. The findings table gives specific, concrete fixes rather than vague advice, so it’s written to be handed straight to whoever’s doing the work.
