A slow website and a designer who had moved on
This professional pop band from Swindon plays weddings, private parties, festivals and corporate events, mostly around the South West but also across the UK and abroad.
Their existing website had been built by a local web designer. It was slow to load and buggy, and the designer had lost interest: he rarely answered support requests, and when he did, the fixes didn’t work. For a band, whose website is often the first thing a couple planning a wedding sees, that was a real problem.
The band needed a website they could rely on, and one they could update themselves.
A site they control, and pages for every kind of booking
A new WordPress website
One of the band was already familiar with WordPress, so we built the new site on it, installed on their existing hosting. We designed the site from scratch, moved all their content across from the old one, built the pages for each event type and area, and added features such as a playlist page and sound clips presented as record sleeves.
It was a full WordPress web design project, built so the band can update their own videos, songs and photos without relying on us or anyone else.
SEO for the bookings they want
The band are based in Swindon but happy to travel much further to keep the diary full, so the wedding band SEO had to cover local searches and wider national ones. They also play very different kinds of events, so each needed its own way in:
- Pages built for specific event types, such as weddings, private parties, festivals and corporate events
- Pages for the areas they want to be booked in
- Every page leading visitors on to what matters most for a band: playlists, photos, videos, testimonials and the contact page

Meet the band, the playlist page, and sound clips presented as record sleeves.
The right enquiries from the right places
The website now brings in visitors who are searching for a band for a specific type of event, or in the areas the band want to work, and leads them straight to the music and the contact page.
