Google SEO

Improved traffic from the UK's most popular search engine

Search Engine Optimisation

It's a common problem that companies spend a considerable sum on having a great website developed, then there is a lot of time invested in writing the content in the hope that your pages will appear high in Google, attract large volumes of search traffic, who will then buy your products or send you enquiries. However, this simply does not happen any more. The internet has become a fiercely competitive and there will usually be competitors who have been around much longer and therefore have a stronger website, so their pages will usually appear much higher and therefore attract the clicks, without optimising your website you are unlikely to see the return which you would like, this is where Google SEO comes in.

Google SEO

google seoOptimising a website for Google involves many factors (whilst there are numerous other search engines out there, approximately 90% of most websites traffic comes from Google, so this is the main focus), they broadly fall into the following categories:

Researching your keywords and competition, to be sure that we target the right search terms and that we can win for those which we chose. This also means checking the number of people who search for a given term, in your target area each month and if those numbers are increasing, steady or decreasing.

Make sure the website has no errors, this can be as simple as checking the right keywords are being used on the site in key places such as the title tag and in the visible text on a page, but remember that overdoing it can be worse than not using them at all.

You have probably heard of link building, but did you know that building the wrong type of links can at best be a waste of time, or worse, cause more harm than good to the sites ranks? We develop a steady stream of links to your website, the type of links which Google likes to see, we do not use old techniques such as search engine submission, mass directory submission, spam blog comments or mass junk article submission. All links come from reputable websites, blogs (editorial links), directories and any other credible source on the internet.

Monitoring the progress of the campaign is key to it's success, what works for one website doesn't necessarily work as well for another, so we carefully track your search positions and traffic, but also what those site visitors are doing once they land on your website, as many people landing there but immediately leaving the page would indicate that we are not delivering the content which they were hoping to find there, so this can be adjusted accordingly.

Playing by the Rules

We always keep up to date with the latest techniques and guidelines put in place by Google, this helps us to avoid future problems when Google changes the algorithm which they use to determine which page will appear at the top and which will not be shown at all. A good example of this being the major Panda updates (their choice of name, not ours!) which wiped millions of pages out of the index during the course of 2011 due to duplicate content. We have always told clients not to use duplicate content on their site, or to copy text from other websites, as a result, not a single customers site was affected. There will undoubtedly be many more changes in future years, we are confident in maintaining this track record for many years to come.
